The demand for IT professionals remains high despite the economic downturn, so IT salaries and related benefits are amongst the highest of any industry sector in the UK. As well as basic pay, IT salaries are supplemented by pension benefits, private medical insurance, expenses and bonus plans.
Of course experience pays, but first-time entrants are also in-demand as there are insufficient numbers of qualified professionals to satisfy the ever-growing number of IT projects.
You may have to be realistic in terms of your first IT salary, but remuneration rises quickly in-line with experience, so getting a foot on the ladder is the all important task.
