Learning can be fun

Our IT courses are designed to support you through every stage of your development.  We provide up-to-date learning materials that clearly present the information you need, and each stage involves assessment to provide feedback about your achievement.

We offer a blended learning approach, consisting of a variety of learning methods and resources, such as:

• Books and printed materials including study guides
• Interactive materials (CD, DVD, video)
• In-centre days

Most of your learning will be via distance learning, so you can schedule study around family and work commitments. Most of our students learn at times that suit them, some find time during their work breaks or while travelling, but mostly from home.

Although most of your study will be completed at home, our courses include classroom attendance to ensure that you receive 'hands on' experience. Our classroom events build on the learning that you achieved in your spare time.  In-centre sessions give you the chance to review and practice in preparation for your assessments. Not only will you meet your tutor, you will also get to spend time with other students. These are held at our top class facilities in the West Midlands.

Your Learning Plan

It is really important to be realistic about how you are going to manage your studies. Creating a learning plan and sticking to it will help you achieve your goals.

Create a SMART learning plan:

• Specific - Set yourself short bite-size chunks of learning at any one time
• Measurable - Do self-tests or ask yourself questions when you have completed your studying
• Achievable - Be honest with what you can achieve in the time that you have set aside to learn
• Reward - Treat yourself when you have achieved
• Time-bound - Give yourself deadlines for completion and stick to them

We know how hard you are going to have to work throughout your course.  It takes real commitment and determination to fit your learning alongside all your daily tasks and we are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.

You will have an allocated tutor to support you throughout your course which means that you are never left on your own. All of our UK-based tutors have the relevant technical qualifications and we also place strong emphasis on their tutoring skills. This means they are well placed to help you succeed. Our tutors are happy to help by email and phone. You will also receive support from other students and our thriving online community within student forums.
