The Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) credential proves that you have the skills to successfully support end users and to successfully troubleshoot desktop environments running on the Microsoft Windows operating system. This is the operating system exam for that certfiication. This course is aimed at those who are relatively new to the IT industry and at current call centre technicians with 6 months experience looking to validate their support skills.

The MCDST course covers the knowledge and skills necessary to solve basic problems end users face while running Microsoft Windows XP Professional in an Active Directory network environment, or Windows XP Home edition in a workgroup environment. It will give an overview of operating system concepts and how to troubleshoot Windows XP.

Prerequisites

To take the MCDST course you don’t need to be a PC expert. You should have a good working knowledge of personal computers, running a Windows operating system and a basic knowledge of local area networks.
