Virginia gained valuable career skills to help her get that job in IT.
A London teacher has gone to the top of the class after turning the tables and becoming a student herself.
Virginia Hill was fed-up of teaching foundation course students. "I felt my abilities and skills were not being fully utilised or developed," she recalls. Proving that it's never too late to advance your career fifty year old Virginia, from Upton Park, decided she'd learned her lesson and was ready to graduate to a more fulfilling role.
Virginia was interested in a career in IT but knew she needed to update her existing skills so she enrolled on a systems analysis course.

Before even completing her course Virginia secured employment at West Kent College in Tonbridge where she teaches systems analysis and programming. "I can now look forward to many years of secure and rewarding employment," she beams. "I'm currently studying to be an ORACLE administrator, by distance learning, and plan to get promoted within 3 years."
Virginia made the right move and would recommend distance learning to anyone. "You need perseverance and determination," she claims. "The Computeach programme gave me knowledge, skills and confidence and undoubtedly helped me get the job. If I hadn't enrolled I'd still be teaching low level courses now."
