Adrian's egg-ceptional success!

A former chicken plucker has contacted award-winning I.T. training company Computeach International to thank them for providing him with the qualifications that set him on the road to career success, sixteen years ago.

From his comfortable office Attleborough-based I.T. professional Adrian Howard recalls the 4 years he worked as a factory charge hand supervising others strip meat off chicken carcasses. Although a hard worker he had few academic qualifications and imagined he would be stuck on the production line for years to come.

Adrian decided to enrol on a computer programming course with Computeach, pioneers in I.T. training by distance-learning. "I knew nothing about computers, but I.T. seemed to offer the best opportunities for development and personal reward," recalls forty-five year old Adrian . "Provided I passed the aptitude test Computeach were prepared to take me on, even with my minimal school qualifications."

The support of commercially experienced tutors was only a phone call or email away. "There is no peer pressure, as with a classroom environment," states Adrian . "You can learn at your own pace and only you and your instructor see your mistakes. The tutors were very patient even when I rang several times in one night!"

Since his Computeach studies Adrian has steadily worked his way up the ladder and now works as an Application Support Team Leader for Norwich Union PLC, managing other I.T. professionals who work in pensions and associated systems. "I have better prospects, more confidence, a lot more money and far more self-respect," he beams. "I have a career instead of a job."

Adrian has plenty of advice for anyone else thinking of changing to a career in I.T. "You don't need to be a brainbox," he says. "Just have dedication and determination. Before enrolling with Computeach I was going nowhere, very slowly. The programme gave me back my self-belief and helped me to prove I have a brain and could make a go of my life. I'm now paid over 5 times the amount I earned at the factory."
