Businesses can reduce costs and save energy by making the most of managed print services, it has been claimed.
Howard Hall, managing director of DTP Group, said that a "comprehensive IT strategy" on print usage will show results in both corporate and public sector organisations.
Good management of print-based information, the expert noted, would have a "dramatic" effect on top as well as bottom-line benefits.
The IT industry commentator added that his own company has brought benefits to businesses.
"Typically, some of our larger MPS (Managed Print Services) clients have been able to save up to 50 per cent on their current spending, with no capital expenditure and reduce the related carbon footprint by up to 70 per cent," Mr Hall revealed.
"An example of this would be Leeds Metropolitan University, which is home to 33,000 students and staff, which achieved savings of £200,000 in the first year as a result of an MPS we installed last year."
