IT training in accounting software could pay dividends

Firms that offer their staff computer training for accounting software solutions are likely to reap myriad benefits.

According to Randolp Johnston, executive vice-president of K2e, accounting software models are becoming increasingly popular among businesses in the UK because they allow firms to streamline their operations.

He pointed out that when used in the right way, accounting software solutions enable companies to analyse the past and "predict the future" with forecasts, cash flow analysis and inventory demand analysis.

"Software is being produced now, such as Xero, that will let the smallest of businesses automate effectively," Mr Johnston commented. "Other providers like Sage have the lower end of the market covered today."

He added that small and medium-sized firms are discovering new options that have developed over the last ten years such as SAP Business ByDesign, which can support distributions operations on a global scale.

Andy Horn, general manager for Easy Connect, recently highlighted the importance of a well-planned cloud computing strategy for IT industry firms that want to improve their corporate efficiency.
