Firms within the IT industry have been urged to employ a well-planned cloud computing policy.
According to Easy Connect, a properly thought out cloud computing approach will enable companies to exert greater control over their finances and maximise the efficiency of their operations.
The firms also pointed out that cloud computing can enable firms to make their IT jobs more appealing because they will be able to offer flexible home working to staff.
Andy Horn, general manager for Easy Connect, said although security is often cited as a major barrier to migrating to cloud systems, this problem is becoming less of an issue.
"Over recent months we've seen more and more solutions entering the market that make this issue very manageable," he commented.
A recent survey of IT managers by iTWire found that two-thirds (67 per cent) of respondents believe cloud computing and virtualisation holds the most promise for delivering value to their organisations.
