An expert has highlighted the myriad benefits unified storage systems can have for firms within the IT industry.
Bob Plumridge, chairman of the Storage Networking Industry Association Europe, pointed out that unified storage systems can be used by businesses for various purposes such as online transaction systems and order entry systems.
He explained that even when firms find that they need to store more documents and publications, they will not have to worry about purchasing more storage because they will already have the spare capacity within their unified environment.
Mr Plumridge pointed out that more traditional storage systems used to be sufficient for companies when data sizes were relatively small but as firms' needs are becoming increasingly complex, they will need more advanced storage systems to cope with larger data volumes.
Randolp Johnston, executive vice-president of K2e, recently urged firms to make use of accounting software solutions such as Xero in order to increase effective automation.
