Providing good content on a fast website is the key to search engine optimisation (SEO), an industry expert has claimed.
Speaking at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Google head of webspam Matt Cutts stated that a strong ranking on the search engine should be achieved through developing an online niche and maintaining a good standard of content.
Following this, a fast and reliable website will ensure a high ranking and strong customer following.
Mr Cutts said that the IT industry can ensure a larger audience through proper SEO and a rapid web server, while establishing a reputation is also key.
"If you want to get a reputation, start small and expand your niche," Mr Cutts was quoted as saying by the Irish Times.
In other news that might interest people in IT training, blogging platform Wordpress has announced a new marketing tool.
The Socrates Theme is highly customisable and boasts a built in HTML rotator and custom navigation options.
