The importance of IT training has been highlighted by a small firm in Yorkshire, which has seen record profits since providing the tuition.
Apollo Lighting in Leeds received a boost in the form of funding from a £50 million pot allocated by the Enhancement Fund to develop people's skills.
The scheme is supported by the European Social Fund, the Learning and Skills Council and Yorkshire Forward, the Yorkshire Post reports.
According to the publication, the cash injection meant the firm could train 25 of its 40-strong workforce in a bespoke computer system, which combines current systems and allows for analysis.
Since the IT training was offered, the firm has achieved record profits, reports TheBusinessDesk.com.
In related news, disadvantaged adults in Southampton are to benefit from IT training as a result of a police haul of equipment being used by a criminal venture supplying counterfeit games.
