UK is 'lifting' from the recession

17:00 10th June 2009

Recent reports have shown that the UK is coming out of the recession and that's not all, according to an industry insider.

Michael Baxter is an economist at Defaqto. He said that not only was evidence suggesting the economy is recovering, but "the UK appears to be moving out of recession much quicker than we thought it was going to".

He added that it was now more likely than ever that Alistair Darling's prediction the recession would be over by the end of the year will come true.

This news may be of interest to people considering a career change or who are currently doing a home study course in IT training.

Evidence for the improvement comes from the latest composite leading indicators from the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and

Development which show a 0.7 point increase in April this year.

In addition, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index for May was at a 12-month high, increasing from 43.1 in April to 45.4.
