'Solid footing' for those in IT jobs

13:19 11th June 2008

People who have gained IT skills and have found employment within the sector are on a solid footing as far as their future prospects are concerned, it has been claimed.

Speaking to the E-Commerce Times recently, John Estes from the Robert Half Technology company suggested that the future looks bright for IT professionals and those aiming to enter the industry.

He insists that demand remains strong from businesses and that most firms are unlikely to start outsourcing their jobs to Asian countries to any worrying extent.

Additionally, Mr Estes maintains that people with network related IT skills will be particularly sought after by companies around the world as wireless technology becomes increasingly prevalent.

"From all of the companies that we work with, the message now is, 'full speed ahead,'" he said.

Meanwhile, a report recently from Canada.com suggested that efforts are being made in North America to reduce the risk of a chronic shortage of IT professionals.
