Reward for training efforts

Reward for training efforts

19:10 28th September 2009

A group of people in Warrington have been rewarded for their hard work in IT training and a number of other disciplines.

The people have undertaken courses at Charter Training Services, reports the Warrington Guardian, and have excelled in a range of fields, including IT training.

It is hoped the training will help the people find new employment opportunities, with some potentially planning career changes after being made redundant during the recession.

Richard Chatterson was one of those who was rewarded for his hard work during an IT training course, receiving vouchers in recognition of his efforts during a work placement with the training centre.

During his time, the trainee achieved a level two NVQ in IT.

With the economic downturn resulting in many people being made redundant, ex-workers are increasingly looking at new ways to get back into the jobs market and one way to do so could be to change career by taking up a training course in a new discipline.

Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics revealed the unemployment rate has continued to rise in recent months, despite suggestions that the worst of the recession may be over.
