There is a need for greater skills among those in IT careers at corporations, new research has suggested.
A poll of chief information officers by CIO Connect found that only 16 out of 26 were confident in their teams' ability to deliver IT projects.
Such fears were largely attributed to communication. Speaking to other departments was cited as a barrier by 19 respondents.
Poor quality leadership was also named by 18 of those questioned.
Alistair Russell, development director at CIO Connect, was quoted by Computing as saying: "Our research identifies an important issue for many of the respondents that while clear on direction there is a lack of confidence in the ability of the IT team to deliver on that vision."
Last month, internet service provider Star revealed that many small businesses in the UK cannot expand, as they are struggling to find the right people to fill their IT careers.
