Companies who wish to see instant results following the redesign of a website need to be little more patient, a firm in the sector has suggested.
One of Birmingham-based Essence Design's latest web design project was an in-house affair, re-launching their own site.
Following the unveiling of the new portal, Steven Wilber, founder and managing director of the company, warned businesses not to be too hasty in ditching existing sites if higher search engine rankings are slow to emerge.
Mr Wilber advised that opting for a replacement can be "suicide", as many new sites will not begin ranking for competitive keywords for the first six to 12 months.
"If you're looking at a complete rebuild and refresh of content within this time span, then you're basically putting yourself back at square one," he said.
Workers beginning web design careers may typically start as support desk technicians and could end up as senior web designers.
