The number of IT jobs vacancies in the UK rose last month, it has been reported.
According to figures from the Ashdown Group Jobs Index, almost three per cent more computing and technology jobs were advertised in May compared to the previous month.
This figure means there are now more IT jobs available than any time since June 2009, the group states.
Ashdown Group director John Lynes commented that IT recruitment has grown 12 per cent since the beginning of 2010.
"Government spending cuts and a public sector recruitment freeze will have an effect on the IT job market, but we foresee any surfeit of skills from the public sector being consumed by the private sector," Mr Lynes said.
He added that "in-demand development skill sets" were particularly desirable to employers.
In other news that might interest those searching for IT jobs, NHS Wales has announced plans to roll out a new system that allows its employees to phone a single number for technical support.
