A recent survey has shown which IT certifications will be in particularly high demand in the coming year.
The Robert Half Technology 2011 salary survey indicates that the IT sector is set for a skill-based rebound thanks to the restarting of deferred projects.
People currently taking, or considering taking, programming courses, systems administration courses, database administration courses and networking courses will become highly sought after candidates in 2011, according to the survey.
As well as job-specific abilities, businesses will be keen to recruit candidates accredited with a Microsoft certified professional (MCITP), Microsoft certified systems engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft certified systems engineer (MCSE) qualification.
The survey also provides information on the latest salaries for differing roles within the IT industry.
Max Messmer, chairman and CEO of Robert Half Technology, said: "Employers must offer competitive compensation to recruit the most in demand talent.
"Even businesses with no immediate hiring plans are wise to monitor salary trends," he added.
UK business leaders recently claimed that graduates with advanced technology skills can help improve the performance of their organisations.
