New applications which allow users of less well-specified phones to access the internet will improve business, says expert.
Microsoft has recently announced its OneApp software, which allows older handsets to remotely use applications, something Windsor Holden, principal analyst at Juniper Research believes will be developed by businesses for their own benefit.
Mr Holden explained that there "is a substantial opportunity for applications like this to come in and greatly facilitate mass usage of applications rather than of internet".
Professionals in networking careers are already aware of the increasing importance of cloud computing.
ABI Research's report Mobile Cloud Computing has predicted the use of mobile cloud systems could eclipse the current mobile application model by 2014.
Mr Holden also noted that handsets may struggle to have the sufficient power needed to run more complex applications, "therefore any strain that can be taken off them by cloud systems would clearly benefit the corporate sector".
