Microsoft beats rivals in browser test

Microsoft's web browser Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) has come out top in a test of rivals based on its ability to block malware.
In its most recent guise, IE8 managed to reveal 81 per cent of infected sites, according to NSS Labs, which conducted the benchmark testing.
The firm assessed IE8 with Windows-based browsers Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. By running them against sites which download malicious code, NSS said IE8 performed best.
Malware is an ongoing concern for workers in networking careers and employees who need to search the internet for information and resources.
According to researchers at security firm PandaLabs, the dangerous codes are designed with a very short life so they can avoid detection.
