IT specialists come to the forefront

A recruitment agency has revealed the recession has produced a larger number of IT specialists in the field.

The reason is that better IT staff can lead to greater efficiency in businesses, says Hays Information Technology.

Managing director of this branch of the recruitment agency, James Lloyd-Townshend, said: "Enterprise architects can still command excellent salaries and remuneration levels reflect the substantial cost savings that these individuals can bring to their organisations."

Business intelligence consultants are also in high demand.

Now could be a great time to undergo IT training as Hays predicts businesses are investing in IT now in preparation for the upturn in the economy.

Even small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are getting in on the act, snapping up talent from the wealth that is currently available, he commented.

Mr Lloyd-Townshend advised IT jobseekers to make sure they have transferable skills to make them as employable as possible.

Along with IT, Hays also specialises in recruitment for sectors such as HR, accountancy, marketing, engineering and architecture.
