Salaries for those in IT jobs are at their highest for three years, it has been claimed.
In its computer staff salary survey, market researcher Celre found that skills shortages have made it vital for companies to reward IT job holders who have the abilities they require.
As such, the rate of redundancies in the IT industry is lower than any other sector, the survey found.
According to Computer Weekly, Celre also discovered that the most in-demand IT professionals are those who have both business and IT capabilities.
Holders of IT jobs with Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers qualifications have an average salary of £41,259, the figures reveal.
Lower level IT salaries fall in the range of £28,000-36,000, while IT directors are the top earners with an average wage of £114,412 per annum.
Celre specialises in salary surveys and has 40 years of experience in collating pay data.
