Acquiring new skills in order to get a job or pursue a career change is a viable option to cope with the recession, reports a newspaper.
The Norwich Evening News says that help is now available due to a new range of courses - including IT courses - which are now being provided by Norfolk county council's Adult Education Services.
Sam Williams, from the paper, says: "Gaining new skills can be vital to securing future employment - or to those wanting to carve a new path for their career."
The council is offering short refresher courses along with full qualifications that take longer to complete. Classes can be tailored to suit the individual and their timetable as both day and evening sessions are help.
Denise Saadvandi of Norfolk County Council Adult Education Services told the newspaper that the courses are aimed at benefiting both individuals and businesses.
Skills-for-work courses available from the service include ICT Business Presentation, NVQ Business and ICT Word Processing.
People living outside of Norfolk might want to consider starting a home study course in computer training.
