Switching to IT careers could be at the forefront of many managers' minds, new research has suggested.
According to the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), 67 per cent of managers from diverse groups regularly look at what is available on jobs boards - while 56 per cent are actively seeking a career change.
For those mulling over a change to an IT career, IT training might be something they would like to invest in - particularly as 45 per cent of managers do not believe their skills have been developed by their employer.
As well as harnessing the skills offered by workers from diverse groups, businesses ought to be wary of burning out talented young managers, the CMI has recommended.
A separate report found that 38 per cent of young managers work extra evenings, while 34 per cent work at the weekend.
