Apple has again come out top in a customer satisfaction poll.
Despite slipping one percentage point and PC manufacturers returning improved ratings, the US firm famous for its iPod and iPhone again came out on top.
According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Apple scored 84 out of 100, Dell managed 75, followed by Compaq, HP and Gateway all with 74.
"Apple's success has been a result of innovation, integration of products, customer service and good marketing," the ACSI's commentary notes.
Popular with people in web design careers, Apple Macintosh computers, or Macs, are known for their reliability and the ease with which they handle multiple applications.
Based on the findings of this US study, only SouthWest Airlines' advantage over its rivals is more significant.
Unlike other laptop manufacturers Apple has yet to release a netbook product. Although chief executive officer Steve Jobs, on the subject of netbooks has said if one was to evolve, "we've got some pretty interesting ideas".
