Women are more likely to commit the time necessary to solving IT problems than men are, recent research suggested.
A study conducted by gadgethelpline.com suggested that women would try to sort problems out by themselves and would spend longer doing so than men.
Such results suggest women have a more considered approach to dealing with IT problems and may be more suited to working in this environment, the study suggested.
Commenting on the results, director of Women In Technology Maggie Berry said that the findings "spoke volumes".
She said that she is interested to see whether as a new generation of people who have grown up with technology enter the workforce, more women will choose careers in technology.
She added that technology is a great enabler, allowing people to do things that were previously not possible - such as creating new applications.
"Technology has given us a lot more capability to respond," she said.
