A website has been set up to illustrate the range of different broadband connection speeds available across the UK.
The project places broadband speeds into three different categories, with one for low speeds of under 2Mbps, one for average speeds between 2Mbps and 8Mbps, and another for higher speeds exceeding 8Mbps.
Created by Gavurin and Point Topic, the website reveals that Oxford, Lincoln and Watford have the lowest average connection speeds, while Liverpool, central London and Glasgow have the fastest.
Oliver Johnson, chief executive at Point Topic, said: "Not only will clients be able to access the datasets we've been publishing over the last few years and the new refinements we're bringing online, but the addition of a straightforward and intuitive interface will help broaden access across their organisations."
Higher broadband connection speeds make home learning easier and enable people to pursue computer training more effectively.
The Oxford Road region of Manchester is soon to benefit from a next-generation broadband network that will provide high-speed connections.
