Large companies are facing difficulties implementing unified communications (UC) because the process can be complex, Jon Neville, general manager at the Enterprise VPN (Virtual Private Network) Users Association (EVUA), has said.
Speaking at the enterprise communications event UC Expo in London, Mr Neville said: "What our members have found is that, because of their size and the complexity of unified communications, it's actually quite difficult for them to implement."
He explained that these two issues have made adoption of UC amongst the larger members of EVUA "actually quite slow".
Mr Neville went on to say that organisations are finding hard to focus on a UC business case, as the benefits they are producing "are not necessarily hard benefits".
His views came after a new report by Avaya said that companies have identified security, resiliency, cost management and return on investment as the most critical issues for networks supporting implementation of UC.
