The UK's methods for handling criminals who operate online are extremely appropriate and are worth imitating.
That is according to various industry stakeholders, who have asserted that other countries around the world would do well to try and tackle internet crime in a similar fashion as the UK.
Discussing e-crime at the UK Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in London last week, the stakeholders noted that more effort should be made by business to work with the police to jointly try and beat online crime.
However, much praise was heaped on the fact that companies can use their own initiatives to tackle this sort of crime, IT Week reported.
Richard Martin of Apacs noted that this type of approach will definitely be worth looking at very closely during the forthcoming International IGF meeting.
He said: "It's a very good model to be taken up elsewhere, especially our national culture towards a blended, bottom up approach."
Recently, computer experts released security software which was designed to tackle a glitch in the addressing system of the internet.
