Apple could have done more to improve the new iPhone, according to Ludwig Makhyan, founder of mobile phone concepts website ConceptMobiles.com.
Last month, gadget guide Gizmodo published details of the next-generation iPhone after the device was lost by a software engineer of the company in March.
According to Mr Makhyam, there is "nothing surprising" among the details that have been revealed.
"This is just a small prototype of old-style Mac computers like the PowerBook G4, but in a smaller size and black. Apple could do much better on the new iPhone," he explained.
Mr Makhyam went on to say that the new device needs to have a five megapixel camera, video chat functionality as well as a 16 million colour display in order to be competitive in the fast-moving mobile phone market.
Late in April Apple announced that its Worldwide Developers Conference, where it is widely believed the next iPhone will be launched, will take place on June 7th 2010.
