New Windows OS will increase hardware performance

11:41 27th July 2009

The latest incarnation of Microsoft's Windows operating system (OS) will work with PC hardware to improve performance.

A recent web post by Joakim Lialias, Intel Alliance manager for Microsoft, revealed that Windows 7, which is due to go on sale later this year, will work alongside hardware to optimise Intel processor technology.

Workers interested in retraining and finding employment in the IT industry could see the software appear on machines they will be using.

Having passed an IT course or a programming course, new entrants to the industry could be quick to grasp the complexities of Microsoft's latest OS.

Mr Lialias noted that Microsoft is again looking at hyper-threading, which looks to optimise the power of a computer's processor.

He also explained that by working with computer-chip maker Intel they had analysed start up and shut down speeds so as to "provide the most responsive compute experience possible".

Windows 7 will hope to better the functionality of Apple's recently released OS, Snow Leopard, which the firm claims is the world's most advanced operating system.
