The recent popularity netbooks, small portable computers, have enjoyed may be on its way down, according to an expert.
"The days of the netbook are over," said Stuart Miles, founder and editor of technology blog Pocket Lint, was quoted as saying by the BBC.
The expert believes that a rise in prices, net-using habits changing and other gadgets taking on their functions will all contribute to the decline of popularity of the netbooks.
"Technology has advanced so much that it's outmanoeuvred itself," he said. "You wouldn't go for something so basic anymore."
Mr Miles was also quoted as saying that he believes the netbooks are losing touch with their initial appeal to consumers.
In other news, British consumers enjoy one of the planet's most advanced digital communications, according to the telecoms regulator Ofcom.
In a recent study, Ofcom also said British people send more text messages and watch more TV than many other countries, several news reports said.
