The shift to virtualisation technologies among businesses in the UK will take time, but will eventually happen, it has been claimed.
Martin Harris, director of product management at cluster, grid and cloud management software company Platform Computing, has explained there will be a general shift to making applications more virtualised.
However, he added that even experienced virtualisation users "need additional management tools to address the new layers of control and cost issues that come up" when adopting the technology.
However, the slow and steady demand for new virtualisation software could result in a new wave of employment opportunities for IT industry professionals able to respond to these demands from businesses.
Enterprises are adopting virtualisation at a swifter pace than ever before, according to a recent independent report published by emerging business technologies research firm Nemertes Research.
