Sizable IT companies have increased their vacancies "significantly" over the last 12 months, helping the economy to recover in the UK, according to a spokeswoman for Jobsite, the recruitment website.
"This increase is being led by large corporates, with smaller businesses still being slightly more cautious with recruitment, but will hopefully follow the lead of these larger organisations in the near future," she said.
February experienced robust rises in both permanent and temporary job availability, according to the REC/KPMG Report on Jobs.
The report also showed the availability of candidates to fill job vacancies increased in the latest survey period.
"The sectors that appear the strongest at the moment are IT and engineering," she added.
She highlighted how IT jobs on Jobsite have increased by 36.59 per cent compared to February 2010 and were up 0.7 per cent from the previous month.
