UK-based IT professionals should consider employment in India, as the country's IT business is set to increase by 500 per cent in the next eight years.
A report by the market research firm Evalueserve has projected that India's IT industry will be worth £100.5 billion by 2016, up from its current level of £20.5 billion.
The research also identified that the number of IT professionals employed in the region will almost treble in the same period, rising from 1.3 million to 3.8 million in just eight years.
The forecast said that India is likely to "create the second largest IT services labour pool behind the US" over the next decade.
Last month, an Indian minister claimed that the country is developing a laptop that will be sold to higher education applicants at just £5.
