"The difference between this and traditional video conferencing is traditional video conferencing was always a hassle to deal with, whilst this becomes really easy to use," Ms Isaacson said on the new technology.
She went on to say that the next generation video conferencing is "never going to replace the human interaction of meeting in person, but it comes pretty close".
Her remarks emerged at at the press launch of Virtual Meetings, a new video conferencing suite designed by Cisco, at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor House.
The expert added that while video conferencing was being taken up mainly by corporates, such as Bank of America, there was further scope to develop the consumer market in the future.
