Businesses are increasingly concerned about IT security, according to Subbu Iyer, senior director of products, application lifecycle management software at Hewlett-Packard (HP).
Companies have identified information security to be a key feature when it comes to maintaining their reputation, the expert said on the sidelines of Infosecurity Europe at London's Earls Court late last month.
Mr Iyer went on to say that hackers have eroded the brand of many companies as a result of cyber attacks carried out against them. He said that as a result they have also lost cash along with a harm in their public image.
"We truly believe that security is up on the CEO agenda," Mr Iyer said.
Companies are "truly looking at how to take security and put an envelope of risk around it so they can manage the risk", he said.
His comments emerged as HP announced the launch of Instant-On Enterprises, a new range of products and services that deliver real-time analysis of IT security.
