Saturday marked a special anniversary for the IT industry.
On June 21st day 60 years ago, the world's first stored-program computer - which was christened The Baby - ran a program.
That momentous event took place at Manchester University. The Baby is perhaps something of a misnomer, as it weighs one tonne, stands two metres high and five metres long.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the world's first computer program, the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester ran demonstrations of its working replica of the machine.
On The Baby's birthday - which was also the final day of the exhibition at the museum - mosaic artist Mark Kennedy created a commemorative piece.
Kennedy's artwork is a well-known feature of central Manchester, viewable on the exterior of Affleck's Palace and in the Hubub restaurant at Selfridges in Exchange Square, according to Mosaic Art Source.
