The IT industry's charity sleep out, Byte Night, has announced the individuals that have been appointed to this year's board.

The event, which raises money for the National Children's Homes (NCH), is to be held on October 3rd and is expected to raise over £500,000 for vulnerable children across the country.

The charity fundraiser will see IT professionals sleep rough for the night, with events occurring in central London, Thames Valley, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Prominent IT personal appointed to the board this year include P Rangaswami, managing director at BT Design and Andrew Hawkins, senior manager and head of business mobility at Nokia UK.

Ken Deeks, co-founder of Byte Night, said: "It is a testament to the nature of the industry that we can attract interest from such big hitters in the world of IT.

"They provide time, energy and enthusiasm for a great cause that supports young people who are homeless or coping with life after leaving care."

The event began ten years ago and has currently raised £35,000 for NCH.
