Apple's iPad is set to become a bestseller for the 2010 Christmas season, according to Will Findlater, editor of Stuff magazine.
He said he expects the iPad to be "a massive hit" that will see off competition from other tablets.
"What the iPad has on its side is an absolutely stunning roster of apps, with some really great games and really interesting and creative stuff. As cool as the Samsung Galaxy Tab is, so far it just doesn't have apps of that standard," he said.
The introduction of optimised operating systems for tablets in the form of Android 3.0 Gingerbread and Windows Embedded CE will open up the tablet battleground as more devices launch in 2011, the expert said.
In related IT industry news, Apple recently heralded its best ever quarterly sales for iPad, iPhone and Mac, with the company pulling in $20 billion (£12,747,951) worth of sales overall. 4.19 million iPads were sold in the quarter ending September 25th 2010.
