The use of cloud computing in the IT industry and other industries will increase as enterprises look at ways to cut costs, according to Andy Wright, sales director at IT solutions provider nonstopIT.
"More and more will go into the cloud I expect," he said.
"More and more people, as they're slimming down their IT infrastructure and IT support departments, they're going to want to put more in the cloud," Mr Wright said.
He said that the attitude of businesses towards the security of cloud computing is "softening" and that they are "starting to trust it more".
The need to cut costs has triggered this shift in opinion, according to Mr Wright, as a cloud-based solution doesn't require as much in-house resources to handle it.
As organisations look to slash costs, they will look to hire providers that manage the software for them, are easy to use and easy to deploy, he said.
Mr Wright was speaking at 360°IT, an IT infrastructure event which took place at Earls Court in London last month.
