Computing pioneer Steve Jobs is set to be honoured at the Grammy awards in February.
The late Apple co-founder will receive an accolade for creating products that "transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies and books", according to a statement from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Jobs has been hailed as one of the IT industry's most influential figures following his death at the age of 56 in October.
His Grammy will recognise the impact that Apple inventions such as the iPod and iTunes have had on the music industry.
Figures due to receive special lifetime tribute awards at the prestigious ceremony in Los Angeles on February 12th include music stars Diana Ross, Glen Campbell and Gil Scott-Heron.
"This year's honourees offer a variety of brilliance, contributions and lasting impressions on our culture," said Neil Portnow, president of the Recording Academy.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Hungarian software firm Graphisoft will unveil a bronze statue of Jobs outside its office in Budapest.
