Providing appropriate IT systems to protect Sony is a monumental task, according to Chester Wisniewski, senior security advisor at Sophos Canada.
His comments followed news that Sony's properties have been attacked by malicious hackers and more data stolen and published.
"I think, or I would certainly hope, that one of the things Sony are doing is looking at the web properties that are still up and are still available and making sure that they're secure and they're not going to be broken into in quite the same way as we've seen with PSN [PlayStation Network] and SOE [Sony Online Entertainment]," Mr Wisniewski said.
He went on to say the multinational conglomerate is such a big company that to try to protect all its different departments and other sections will be a tough job.
Sony owns around five movie companies and half the music industry and there's a lot of things associated with them, he highlighted.
