Consumers have taken a growing interest in the portable audio market an it is rising as a result, according to Richard Sharp, technology editor at gadgetsandgizmos.org, a technology news site.
"The portable audio market is booming and it has never been easier to listen to music and media on the move. Consumers demand quality which will inevitably lead to higher levels of spending," Mr Sharp said.
He went on to say that premium headphones immerse the user in sound but at the same time keep others in the room oblivious to what you are listening to.
"Technology such as noise cancelling has revolutionised the way people work, rest and play," he explained. His comments emerged as an article on the BBC website published last month showed that headphones are showing a 24 per cent year-on-year growth in volume, with the average a consumer spends increasing.
