Consumers waiting for the latest IT industry development to deliver them super-fast broadband will have to be patient, according to Antony Walker, chief executive of the Broadband Stakeholder Group, the UK government's leading advisory group on broadband.
"It's important to recognise that nobody's really done this before in terms of building our next-generation networks into challenging rural locations," he said.
"Therefore it takes time to work out how to get it right," he said.
The expert went on to say that the UK authorities are working hard on the subject of super-fast broadband and considering various solutions.
Separately, Ian Lucas, Labour MP for Wrexham, said earlier this month that he is pushing for the government to push a series of pilot schemes designed to test the next generation of broadband in Britain, according to a report in PC Pro.
