There is growing of interest from people living in the countryside in the UK to have access to broadband services, according to Clodagh Murphy, director of Eclipse Internet, which provides internet services and focuses on solutions for small businesses.
"A lot of customers want to know when it will be available in their area so we recently developed a simple availability map. This allows customers to select their area and see when their area will be enabled," she said.
Ms Murphy said her company is working alongside British Telecom to make sure those interested in the services see the benefits sooner rather than later.
In related IT industry news, Michael Phillips of broadbandchoices.co.uk has said broadband customers whose speeds are less fast than the estimate they were sold should be able to change their internet service provider (ISP) without paying a fee.
