British people who are currently not using the internet may be enticed to build their own online enterprise as a result of the launch of the government-sanctioned £98 computer scheme, according to Jonathan Bowers, communications director of UKFast.
Earlier this month, digital expert Martha Lane Fox launched a new project which will provide a £98 computer package to the 9.2 million British people who have no access to broadband. Her intentions are to bridge the divide between those with access to internet and those without it.
"It'll certainly be a boost for some people who don't have a computer at the moment to go out and get one," Mr Bowers said.
Mr Bowers added that an inexpensive computer would encourage new users to find out what's available on the internet. As a result some users might think about the possibility of starting their own companies after seeing how easy it is to run a company online.
