There are no signs of a slowdown in the online fashion retail sector, which is expected to continue growing in 2011, according to Tina Spooner, director of information at the Interactive Media in Retail Group.
"The online clothing sector has grown over 2,000 per cent since 2001 and there are no signs of that growth slowing," she said.
"With many online fashion retailers, including Asos, Aurora and Arcadia, expanding internationally, they are opening their doors to a much larger market and will no doubt continue to reap the rewards of this investment," she added.
The international online fashion retail market continues to evolve, with eBay this week announcing the acquisition of brands4friend, Germany’s largest online shopping club for fashion and lifestyle.
The Online fashion sector is one of the dominant retail forces in the UK, the expert added.
She said the UK fashion industry is worth around £20 billion to the economy and that it is no surprise that this is one of the strongest retail sectors online.
