IT industry news: Online advertising 'is accountable'

According to David Davis, managing director at RedFly Marketing, those advertisers who have moved some of their budgets to the web for the first time may be shocked at how rewarding doing that can be.

"I think we are finding the right balance now as advertisers and agencies realise that not all ad spend can go online, but it is now a significant part of the mix," the expert said.

"To ignore it would be silly," he added.

Developments in the IT industry have helped with the evolution of some online advertisements. 

Separately, data released by comScore earlier this month revealed that almost all of the top ten UK online advertising networks have seen strong growth recently in the number of users reached.

The survey also showed that nine of the top ten saw growth in unique visitors, with 24/7 Real Media boasting a 111 per cent increase.

Google Ad Network registered 38.3 million unique visitors in July – equivalent to 93 per cent of the UK online audience.
