Consumers will be using more smartphones to shop online as companies provide more apps to make the process easier, according to Patricia Davidson, author of the Shopaholic's Top 1000 Websites an founder of thesiteguide.com.
"We are going to see more and more apps and there is going to be more and more mobile shopping," Ms Davidson said.
The expert also said she expected the mobile shopping market to continue to grow.
The growth in mobile shopping is not going to be "an enormous percentage overall", but it will be "phenomenal", she said.
She went on to say that mobile shopping won't replace buying a PC, or buying on an iPad. "It's the screen size that's the problem," she explained.
More than a third of those questioned said they would be using their mobile to conduct Christmas shopping this year in order to reduce stress levels and fit shopping in and around their nine to five job, according to a recent survey by Tesco.
